The first book written by Matthew Pope, “In Doctrine, Uncorrupt,” is a compilation of articles published on February 15, 2014. Featuring nearly 30 articles, it contains a series of writings composed while writing for his home church’s newsletter at Northside Baptist Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. Monthly articles, each pertains to a Christian practice, person, or issue: such as abortion (Matthew 18:6), baptism (Matthew 3:11), gay marriage (Romans 1:27), and pro-church politics (Romans 13). In short, it is a “reinstatement of Christian doctrine,” for the betterment of society, whilst rejecting secular beliefs, birthed from the Bible verse for which it is named, Titus 2:7: “In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity.” Even the cover is symbolic, depicting Jesus being baptized by St. John the Baptist in the River Jordan: a metaphor for the Baptist Faith and the familiar example of common doctrine as revealed by Christ The Son for His Catholic (Universal) Church: “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him” (Matthew 3:13)
A graduate of Belmont Abbey College, a Catholic, private institution, Matthew received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Theology in May of 2012. Upon registering for pastoral training in August of 2013, he was formerly a Master of Divinity student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, pursuing the Evangelism program. With a transparent calling from God, his life dramatically changed as he received confirmation into The Catholic Church in November of 2016. Matthew's passion rests in serving the nations with the hope of The Gospel. Author of his lay-ministry, Even Unto The End Of The World, which was established on November 12, 2013, he has also produced his previous books: In Doctrine, Uncorrupt (which was released on February 15, 2014) and Assembled With One Accord (published on December 1, 2015), and is currently writing and planning for following books to come.
With a revelatory vision, Matthew intends to encounter the culture and Christendom with truth. In addition, he intends to draw forth the rudiments of the Most Holy Catholic Faith to transform all Christian denominations into The One Church. Matthew confessed Jesus Christ as Savior at age seventeen, impressed with the desire to enter the ministry, in March of 2008. A native of Shelby, North Carolina, he was born on May 28, 1990. He now resides in Wake Forest, North Carolina where he has been actively writing since late 2013.
